Meow, hello there, my name is Katherine, but you can call me Kat; because I basically am a cat. Anyways, I am a 26-year-old, lifestyle blogger, with an INFP-T personality type, from the United States. I love fashion, the color pink, cats, dogs, and spending all my time on my computer. I'm often seen wearing cat ears headbands.

The Makeup Tag

Although I'm not a beauty blogger, nor am I the best at makeup, I still have a love for it. Ever since I knew makeup was a thing, I had a little bit of an interest in it and wanted to wear it. Although I'm personally way more into fashion than makeup, I feel like they kind of go hand in hand. Both are an art form to me, and a great way to express myself. I absolutely love doing my makeup before changing into my outfit for the day when I go out. And provided I give myself plenty of time to do my makeup, and I don't have to rush, doing my makeup can even be super relaxing. I love getting creative, so as long as I wake up early enough and don't procrastinate on getting ready, I love really taking the time to create a fun look.

Anyway, that being said, when my friend Mari tagged me to do this makeup questionnaire, I just had to do it!

The Makeup Tag

1 - How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

My mom allowed me to wear a little bit of blush a few times throughout my childhood on very special occasions, but I wasn't actually allowed to wear makeup until I was 12. And I think I also had to beg a little bit to be able to wear it that young.

2 - How did you get into makeup?

Honestly, the main reason I begged my mom to let me wear makeup was peer pressure. So I guess you could say peer pressure is what got me into actually wearing makeup. But I had an interest in "girly" things like makeup long before peer pressure ever came into play. I'm actually not sure what it was that sparked my interest in makeup. My mom was never big into makeup or even fashion, and I don't have any sisters (or siblings that were into it). The beauty community was also nothing like it is now. I think I just thought applying makeup looked like fun. I also loved playing online makeup games when I was younger; I could spend hours creating different looks.

3 - What are some of your favorite brands?

Some of my favorite brands to follow are Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Fenty Beauty, and Beauty Bakerie, even though they're far outside my usual price range for makeup. I would be willing to splurge on those brands as a special treat when I can though! My current favorite brands to actually buy from would have to be e.l.f and Maybelline.

4 - What does makeup mean to you?

Makeup is a way for me to express myself, alongside fashion. It's often an extension of my outfit.

5 - If you could only wear 4 products on your face, what would they be?

When I'm feeling lazy, I usually just wear foundation, mascara, and eyeliner. My fourth product would be an eyeshadow palette, as I like to be creative with my eyeshadow looks.

6 - What is your favorite thing about makeup?

I love the creativity of it! I absolutely love looking at the looks that people create, as well as creating looks of my own. Even if I'm not great at it, it's still fun to play around with makeup. I'm also a sucker for pretty packaging, which is often what draws me to luxury brands, even if I don't end up buying it.

7 - What do you think of drugstore VS high-end makeup?

Honestly, I primarily buy drugstore products just because of the price point. I'm not really into makeup enough to justify spending a lot of money on one product unless I know I'll love it and that I'll use it a lot. I feel that both drugstore and high-end can sometimes be hit or miss, which is why I often look for reviews on most of the makeup I buy before I actually buy it. I absolutely feel that high-end products can be worth the splurge to get a high-quality product that you really want to try. But as for building a collection, I tend to stick to drugstore products. I honestly just prefer to spend the money on other things, particularly clothes, haha.

8 - What is the one makeup trend you've never understood?

My answer to this one is the same as Mari's in her post, the tattooed brows. I love the "snatched" eyebrow look on others, but I'm not sure if they're for me. Although, that could just be because I'm too lazy to even touch my brows, to begin with. It's rare that I even take the time to pluck them, as it's time-consuming. Not to mention painful. I also don't go out enough to justify paying to get them done professionally. In terms of micro-blading or actually getting them permanently tattooed, I'm not sure I'm even comfortable with having any kind of permanent or even semi-permanent makeup done. Just in case I end up not liking it.

Before I end this post, I'd like to thank Mari for tagging me to do this, and for always supporting my blog. You are such an amazing friend, and I love you!

I tag anyone who wants to respond to this questionnaire. If you decide to answer these questions, leave the links to your post in the comments so I can read them.
Thank you for reading, and I hope the rest of your day is wonderful!
